Funky Butt Drum Club, while they were together, were a significant part of the Champaign/Urbana music scene. The playful energy of their shows combined with their musical talent made for some unforgetable experiences. This cd does not do the band enough justice, but is a good listen none the less.

I used to watch these guys live when I was in college, and this album is a great collection of their work. Crisp, eclectic, funny, moving, and totally funky stuff. A bass guitarist, an organist, a saxophone player, and three (yes 3!) drummers combine instruments and rhythms most people have never heard of to show anything and everybody gotta have a funky butt.
The talent of these guys will blow your mind. Front man Brandon Washington never runs out of energy whether he's heating up the booty, expressing his soul through his musical hands, bantering with phenomenal drummer Ian Shepherd, or attempting to "funkdify" Lawrence Welk.

Unfortunately this group split up a few years ago, so you're lucky if you can get your hands on this album. I have few CDs in the category where every song is great, but this is definitely one of them. The recording quality is way better than the samples on here portray.

So just listen to some of the samples, get hooked, and allow the FBDC to provide "the soundtrack for your groove life."
